It's almost the weekend, and lately, my grime-craving soul has changed gears and begun seeking lightweight disco beats when party time arrives. I sort of blame Skream for the transition; his disco set at his NYC afterparty really turned a switch and reminded me how awesome the tunes I sometimes heard on the car radio during my childhood could be. Except now, I can finally view them in the proper context: revelry.
For me, the Azari & III name is becoming a trusted brand: I'm like an Apple fan, anything with this label stamped on it is a thing I must have in my possession. The Toronto pair's retro-disco tone is hard not to fall in love with. Here, they blend their beats with the soft female vocals of England's Little Boots, giving a refreshing update to a fellow disco-appreciator who hasn't been in vogue for a while.
