In a recent interview with SPIN, Tyler, The Creator and his gang of wolves from OFWGKTA sat down with Julianne Escobedo Shepherd and talked about their rise to success, as well as their experience touring around the world.
In the interview, Tyler revealed that his upcoming album, Wolf, will have him steer away from the dark world of his sophomore album Goblin, and instead look to create an album that is focused on the music that motivates him.
Tyler stated to SPIN:
"Talking about rape and cutting bodies up, it just doesn't interest me anymore… What interests me is making weird hippie music for people to get high to. With Wolf, I'll brag a little more, talk about money and buying shit. But not like any other rapper, I'll be a smart-ass about it. Now it's just girls throwing themselves at me and shit, but I got a girl back home. People who want the first album again, I can't do that. I was 18, broke as fuck. On my third album, I have money and I'm hanging out with my idols. I can't rap about the same shit."
As mentioned at Pitchfork, Tyler hopes to channel psychedelic bands like Stone Throw and Stepkids while he writes Wolf. The interview also mentions that the music video for Tyler's "Bitch Suck Dick" will be released later this week. Wolf is planned to be released in May 2012.
