This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…

Today's delivery is brought to you as a special tribute to Roy Ayers mixed by Anthony Valadez. So, what you know about real soul music? I'm talking about the true origins of Soul and, if you are a fan of current hip-hop, then you probably have gotten large doses of soul due to the heavy sampling usage. Now, Roy Ayers is one pioneer who got his start mostly in the 70's with his jazzy soul releases and then he then spilled over into the 80's when he started mixing all types of sounds yet still maintaining that underlying funk. I'm not trying to give you a real history lesson here but I felt it should at least give a small intro. Now, fast forward to present day and you have a DJ, Anthony Valadez, who has decided to put together a mix paying homage to the legendary Roy Ayers. The mix features old school funky/soul tracks mixed in with modern hip-hop all while maintaining a consistent, head nod inducing, chill vibe. This mix is perfect for a lazy Saturday/Sunday afternoon. Check out the mix and chill….

Like many, I started my musical education while engaged in playing classical music in school. What began as a simple adolescent activity, quickly transformed into a deep love and appreciation for all forms of music. This love would continue to grow and manifested itself into the form of becoming a Co-Founder of EARMILK. This online music publication has become my outlet to spread all genres of music to those impressionable people, much like me. And, much like you, i'm often literally waiting for the drop....
