This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by 10 Ft. Ganja Plant. Wa'apen bredren? . . . er, maybe I should just say hello. Sorry. Today's artist is so damn irie, I'm talking like a rastaman. These bredren hail from upstate New York — not exactly where you'd expect a reggae band to come from. Don't be fooled though, these guys are serious reggae heavy-hitters. 10 Ft. Ganja Plant is actually a side project, with the original band being John Brown's Body. They recently released unto the masses their new album Shake Up the Place. This album is a mélange of laid-back dubby dreamscapes and warm classic roots riddims with horns that send chills down your spine. And to top it all off, reggae founding fathers Sylford Walker and Prince Jazzbo join in on a few tracks. I'm posting the title track below which doesn't do the album justice because every track is so different. Get the whole album. You won't be disappointed, I promise. And remember, leave your troubles at the door. Chill….
