Laura Stevenson And The Cans

Here is another remarkable band on Don Giovanni Records, Laura Stevenson And The Cans.

Laura Stevenson is a singer/songwriter who accentuates her voice in the most charming way and The Cans are four men that harmonize her sound with accordions, xylophones, trumpets and other miscellaneous instruments. Together, this New York-based band creates something so genuine and philosophically winsome.

Currently on an European tour, these guys released their latest album in April. Sit Resist has some of the most tender love songs like "Master of Art," " 8:08" and "Barnacles." Although these songs have soft romantic lyrics, there is also a punk vibe and that makes Laura Stevenson And The Cans the even more appealing.

My favorite is "Master of Art" because it really captures Laura's singing abilities. From the several times I've seen her, people are always blown away by Laura's voice. Some have related her to Regina Spektor but The Cans offer an extra tremble and edge. If you haven't already, check out Laura Stevenson And The Cans!
