Earlier this summer, Vancouver-based hardcore-punk band Fucked Up released the follow-up to their 2008 album, The Chemistry of Common Life, with David Comes to Life. The 18-song rock opera, split up into four acts, tells the story of a factory worker named David who meets Veronica, a "leftie" as she is described in the song, "Queen of Hearts." The album proceeds to follow David through a story of death and betrayal, garnering the numerous positive reviews from music critics and fans alike.

Following the release of David Comes to Life, Fucked Up released their first music video for "Queen of Hearts." Shot inside a classroom, a teacher leads a divided class of boys and girls as they sing along with front-man Damian Abraham and Madeline Follin from Cults. The divided classroom acts as a motif for the plot within in the song: the boys representing David while the girls representing Veronica. Neither Abraham nor Follin are seen in the video.

Recently, Fucked Up released their second music video for the song, "The Other Shoe." Taking a different direction from "Queen of Hearts," director Matt Eastman places heavy emphasis on the album's storyline; portraying our protagonist David in the midst of a love triangle. Unlike "Queen of Hearts," all the members of Fucked Up make an appearance.
