Daily 2% - Chilled and Ready to Serve [Kolohe Kai]

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill...

Today's delivery is brought to you by Kolohe Kai and its time to mix it up a bit. You probably haven't heard of them unless you are from the islands and Hawai'i specifically. Its a group of high-schoolers and recent graduates that have taken the island reggae scene by storm. The group consists of 5 members with an average age of 18 but you wouldn't really pick up on that just by listening to their music. Many of you reading this right now wouldn't necessarily call yourselves fans of this genre but do yourselves a favor and give this track a try because it might just have you smilin' in a minute. The song i'm bringing to you today is called "Cool Down" and its from their album entitled This is the Life. The track title is perfect considering this is the type of music that got me to do Daily 2% in the first place. The song as a whole is great but the hook is what grabs you. So open your mind; check out the track and relax....

P.S. If the track doesn't doing anything for you right now then download it and save it for summer when you go on vacation or are doing some outdoor activity involving water!

Perfect. I get my fix with the Suicide Sundaes and then come here to chill out. It's the fine cheese to my wine.

I grew up in Hawai'i. And still here. And I've been over and done with Jawaiian (or Island rhythm, whatever) for like 20 years ago. Roots reggae is strong here, no doubt, but I prefer Ooklah the Moc, Dubkonscious, Melodious Solutions...
