Tracks that don’t quite make the cut for a full length project often never see the light of day, until those damn leakers get a hold of them. So it’s always a smart move to voluntary drop those tracks, especially when they just highlight how concisely put together your finished product is. Nikko Lafre has done just that, releasing “Secrets & Sins”, a deep Brandon Niles produced effort which was left off his extremely popular MPLS: West End Stories record.
Lafre just inked a new distribution deal with 300 Entertainment, and as a thank you to all of his fans for the support they’ve shown in making MPLS the huge success it’s been, the Minnesotan let go of the previously unheard wonderment “Secrets & Sins”. A moody, soulful and atmospheric 3 minutes, it seems a shame that the track didn’t feature on MPLS, but its exclusion is a testament to the creative integrity of the 20 year old rapper, who is no doubt gearing up for a run on top with a newly signed deal and bags of momentum. You can decide for yourself why “Secret & Sins” did or didn’t deserve a place on MPLS below.
