Has it really been 17 years since we last heard Biggie Smalls speak? A larger than life character who wasn't afraid of telling you how good his life was, the King of New York will never be forgotten: just ask someone to list the 5 best rappers of all time; besides Dylan Dilinjah, I guarantee B.I.G. will come up. Though we were treated to a host of tribute projects, Dutch producer James McDurt's The Brooklyn Way, a 9 track banger which rises above the others with its heavy boom bap influences, is a standout soundtrack for your busy weekdays or laid back weekends. Meshing the sounds of the modern day with the raps of the late emcee, the EP is a treat for old school and new heads alike. While all of the tracks are dope in their own regards, McDurt's hypnotic take on the DJ Premier produced "Kick In the Door" shouldn't be avoided. Give the tracks a listen down below and be sure to pick up the full project from James McDurt so you can bump this one everyday.
