Five of the best performances from Boiler Room's biggest babes

Acknowledged, supported and highlighted constantly by the biggest names in the music industry, both male and female, the vision of gender parity across the board is slowly becoming less of a vision and more of a reality. With campaigns like Smirnoff's Equalising Music, global networks like Shesaid.so, collectives like Discwoman and 50/50 lineup initiatives encouraged and coming together – change is on the horizon and female-identifying acts are securing the platform they deserve.

A constant champion of any and all identifying talent is the home of almost everyone's favourite place for the top shelf in DJ sets – Boiler Room. Hailed for diversity and constantly challenging ideals, Boiler Room has delivered some of the very best in big names and newcomers – with some of the finest Boiler Rooms in 2018 courtesy of the ladies. With that in mind, we've picked out five of our favourite Boiler Rooms that have seen heavy rotation amongst the EARMILK squad since we very first hit play. #IWD2019

5. Anetha Boiler Room @ Skate Cafe – March 2018

First up on our list is Blochaus resident and Parisian Anetha, who blew the roof off with her unrelenting and all-consuming 45 minute techno takeover at Skate Cafe in Amsterdam – with Boiler Room acknowledging it as one of the best techno sets from 2018. The DJ and producer's fluid transitions and expert track selections put Anetha well and truly on our radar.

4. Hourglass Hip Hop & Trap Mix Boiler Room @ AXE Music One Night Only Atlanta

Still relatively unknown on the global circuit, Hourglass recently relocated from her hometown of Charlotte, NC to Atlanta, where her high-energy hip hop and trap sets are far better suited to the city's club landscape. Tracks like SOB X RBE's "Anti" mixed into Justin Timberlake's "Senorita" and Afro B's "Drogba" reaffirm Hourglass's ability to gas the main room.

3. Honey Dijon Boiler Room @ Sugar Mountain

Queen of house Honey Dijon's Boiler Room from Sugar Mountain Festival in Melbourne has it all. Against a backdrop of elated dancers, Honey plays the best in new and old electronic tracks moving through soul, acid, techno, disco and house vibes. She's an advocate for equality and trans visibility in dance music, with her sets capturing the free-spirited energy of that which she believes fiercely in.

2. Ouri Live Set Boiler Room @ Montréal

Ouri's Boiler Room, featuring Mindbath and Forever, is a different class. Live and with an impossible looking set up, the producer extraordinaire wowed throughout her performance and curated an inspirational journey through her inimitable sound. The set is hypnotic and exotic, laced with influences from breakbeat, house and just about every other kind of electronic music.

1. Peach House Pumpers Mix Boiler Room @ Manchester

The crown of undefeated champion in Boiler Rooms for the EARMILK squad last year remains with Peach and her killer performance at the BR queer party in Manchester. Feel good, pumping house selections soundtrack what looks to be a party for the most elated Boiler Room crowd to date.
