Suspected Marilyn Manson and Eli Roth short film released on Sturmgruppe

A video popped up on the Internet today from  film company Sturmgruppe, with scenes of Lana Del Rey's tear-soaked face after pretending to be assaulted that would bring a PTSD flashback to any woman who has experienced sexual violence in a real life setting. To reiterate what the websites say, it's one in four women in the United States alone. And the suspected culprits were shock rock artist Marilyn Manson and "Hostel" director Eli Roth, who was quoted on Larry King Live as saying that he'd directed music-less scenes for Manson and that, "The footage is so sick, it's been locked in a vault for over a year."

Manson's camp countered with, “Manson did not direct this, shoot it, nor was it for a Marilyn Manson video or outtake footage made by him or to be used by him with his music.” To further complicate the controversy, Del Rey and Manson were supposedly involved in 2012 around the time that the video was shot. This is also an artist who freely admitted to abusing first love Missi in his autobiography "The Long Dark Road Out of Hell," onstage for shock value- with her consent- early on in his career. So would Manson- who has made a career out of upsetting the public- really go that far?

When asked by a fan, "Does the sexual abuse of women add to horror?" Roth said, "No. I mean that's a crazy question. There is literally no way to answer that question. The sexual abuse of women is so horrific. How are you even supposed to answer a question like that?" His answer translates online as a stutter and may lead some to believe that he was caught red handed. But all we know for sure is that the video is extremely disturbing and that there are various reasons why it could have been released by the video company. It is now subsequently mushrooming up all over the Interwebs even though Manson's representatives had it taken down earlier today.

The other shots in the short film, a misfit birthday party, a grim dinner scene and a woman with her bruised and bloodied face immersed in water do strike a typical Marilyn Manson chord, as his videos seem to deal largely with horror themes, muted colors and grisly cinematography. The Lana Del Rey scene in contrast is a simple black and white frame that proves to be more horrific than even the creepy children holding brightly colored balloons that have "Rape," scrawled on them. Some of these scenes were used in videos of his released this year, but upon casual viewing that one word is enough to send us spinning.
