As we get closer and closer to Movement, the legendary Detroit techno festival this weekend, one thing has become very evident, Shipfam! is invading with a few events of their own, all open to both shippers and landfam alike. Shipfam or shippers as they like to call themselves, is the community that has developed through the course of the seven Holy Ship! sailings that have occurred to date. Even though Holy Ship! and HARD events are not known for their techno, it would appear that Shipfam is into techno, with the multitude of shippers descending on Detroit this weekend.

otb shipfam boat party

To help bring everyone together, Justin Braun, owner of Only The Beat, is hosting a Shipfam Boat Party with Landis LaPace B2B Eyes Everywhere and IMJUSTINBRAUN on the Upper Deck while Dogma B2B Raverham Lincoln and 530 B2B Sammy Douglas are on the Lower Deck. Boarding starts at 11:30am with a 12pm-3pm sailing, just in time for Movement’s first day. Shipfam knows how to throw one hell of a party, so expect this one to go off. Tickets are going fast, so make sure to get yours ASAP.

Shipfam Movement Brunch

On Sunday, Shipfam is throwing a Movement brunch party at Northern Lights in Detroit, starting at 9:30am. A whole list of Shipfam DJs will be playing, including Raverham Lincoln on two separate decks. However, the best part of this event will be all the people in attendance. Show up early and stay late for this great brunch with some tunes to get you ready for the second day of Movement.

OTB Boat Party

If you survive the first Only The Beat boat party, on Sunday May 29th, Only The Beat is giving us A Detroit Boat Day Party. As with their first boat party, boarding starts at 11:30am with a 12pm-3pm sailing of the Detroit River. Dabura and Chris Roberts will be playing the Upper Deck while IMJUSTINBRAUN, 530, and Oliver Caine hold down the Lower Deck. With over 12,000 watts of sound, this is sure to be a great way to start of your second day of Movement.

If you’re looking for a taste of why so many shippers love them boat parties, these are the places to be.
