A year chalk full of cancellations and postponements, we’ve seen a number of music festivals recently move their events to next year. Music Midtown, a staple of the Atlanta area music scene, has too decided to postpone their festival to 2021.
Ever since its creation in 1996, Music Midtown has been a key part of the music culture in the Atlanta area boasting an average attendance of over 50,000 people per year. Last year alone, the festival saw the likes of Travis Scott, Cardi B, Panic! At the Disco, and Vampire Weekend headlining with accompanying performances by Billie Eilish, Charlie Puth, Lizzo, Walk the Moon and a number of other artists. However due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the festival decided to put safety first and postpone until next year. They recently took to Instagram to make the announcement for ticket holders:
Music Midtown 2020 featuring headliner My Chemical Romance has been rescheduled to September 18-19, 2021. Your ticket will be honored for the new dates or if you can’t make it, you’ll be able to request a refund. We’ll email ticket holders directly with details. Visit MusicMidtown.com for more information.
Even though some excited ticket holders have come out with their disappointment at hearing the news, the festival has agreed to fully refund every ticket and honor any tickets for the new dates in 2021. With My Chemical Romance headlining after a nine year touring hiatus, next year's Music Midtown looks poised for a good year.
