Being in the electronic music scene can make you feel a little bit of pride sometimes. Maybe it's seeing your favourite DJ booked to play a venue you love, maybe it's your favourite producer having a release on an amazing label or making it into the Beatport charts. But for followers of UK based party promoters, Taste The Punch, it's seeing them make the move to Ibiza for the 2017 Summer season – and watching that fanbase grow.
Just 4 years ago, two brothers decided they would recreate London's world famous rave and secret party vibe and bring it 30 minutes north of the capital. Fast forward to the present day and Taste The Punch has fast become one of the country's best underground dance events. Seeing DJs such as Annie Mac, Darius Syrossian and Claptone grace 'the punchbowl' decks, the parties are moving from strength to strength. After hosting a stage at Eastern Electrics festival in 2016 and now the announcement of an Ibiza residency at San Antonio club, Eden, Taste The Punch are setting the bar for how promoters should be growing and evolving.
The 'punchbowl' is kicking off its summer stay on the island with an opening party on Friday 16th June 2017. While a full lineup is still TBA for the debut party, Lee Walker and George Kwali are already on the list – so you can be assured this is going to be a big one. Taste The Punch will remain at Eden showcasing unmissable artists every Friday until the 29th September – with just their Phase One announcement including dance heroes Faithless (DJ Set), BBC Radio 1's Monki and Toolroom champion Mark Knight.
