Montauk-hailing rising artist Cenyc extends his musical journey carried by legacy and purpose. Fresh off a breakthrough year with “More To Life” surpassing 100K streams, and following national recognition where he was ranked in the top 0.01% of global independent artists, Cenyc’s ascent has been slow yet impactful.
Built on discipline, generational values, and self-belief, Cenyc’s work ethic is an inherited trait. Rooted in New York, his family helped build the town. From a gas station and hardware store built in the 1940s, to a lineage of self-starters, engineers, and creators, Cenyc’s bloodline has always valued craftmanship and the work that goes into it.
His paternal grandfather, a World War II paratrooper and self-reliant figure taught him to carve out his own path in the world, his maternal grandfather, Captain Willis N. Brown Jr. – a fighter pilot in the Vietnam War, one of the early Black commercial airline pilots for American Airlines as well as an inventor and businessman – shaped his inventive spirit.
Spread across two coasts and two legacies, alongside the hands-on entrepreneurial lifestyle of his father, who ran a hardware store, bike shop, and sound company in Montauk, Cenyc identity is one founded on independence, perseverance and the ability to dream big.
Recognized by TuneCore as one of the top 0.01% of independent artists worldwide in their $5 billion milestone campaign, Cenyc’s music, spanning themes of therapy, fatherhood, solitude, and self-mastery is rooted in a sense of warmth and confidence. Reflective yet laden with clarity, his uncompromising craft continues to evolve, leading into a more refined style that’s built to last.
