Mark your calendars and set your alarms, because tickets for the Icelandic indie queen’s crazy new NYC concert series called Björk’s Cornucopia go on sale tomorrow (special presale tickets available today). Since Björk announced this unique performance run late last year, it has arguably bolstered more excitement than any other upcoming indie artist concert or tour. For good reason, too.
What’s so different about this concert, you ask? For starters, Björk is working with a huge dedicated team of digital and theatrical partners to produce an array of musical and technological installations. She’s calling Bjork's Cornucopia “where the acoustic and digital will shake hands, encouraged by a bespoke team of collaborators.” Even more exciting is one of these team members just so happens to be award-winning Argentine screenwriter and director Lucrecia Martel. Lastly, the show is being held at The McCourt, a 17,000-square-foot venue space inside of New York City’s coolest new art center The Shed. It’s still too early to tell if Cornucopia will be the brilliant theatrical experience we hope for, but if you’re an avid fan of Björk’s usual weird and obscure nature we’d say this show is totally worth checking out.
The 8-concert series will take place between May 6 and June 1. Ticket prices start at $50 and for Shed Movers (what The Shed calls their members) there is a special ticket presale taking place today, Feb 19. Tickets to the general public officially go on sale Wednesday, February 20 at 10am EST. Also, be mindful that there’s a two-ticket-per-household limit. Visit The Shed website for more information.
