Los Angeles-based 16-piece collective The Urban Renewal Project has just unleashed their highly anticipated fourth album Love Glory Duty Death. The twelve track full length features acclaimed guest collaborations including rapper Oh No, phenomenal artist Tia P., and rapper Skyzoo. The band is known for their upbeat and riveting fusion of Hip Hop, funk, Jazz, and more for a one-of-a-kind listening experience.

The album begins with "Rush", a thrilling song all about the hustle, the grind and how perseverance is the key to success. The track opens with a dynamic blend of bright brass, funk-fueled basslines and marching drums for a collision of sound. Then there is "Shake Your Hips" a celebratory dance banger filled with lyrics all about partying, celebration and attraction. Lyrics include "Let me see your body move real smooth / Slow down work it left to right / Come on and get loose tonight / If partying is a crime / Then I'm guilty your honor," showing this fun-loving narrative. The song is timeless and nostalgic with groove-inducing rhythms, big brass and smooth rhymes.

Another highlight is "Money- featuring Oh No". The track is a brass-fueled boom-bap eruption that hits like a cinematic heist scene, funky, tense, and grooving with a swagger that feels both classic and urgently modern. Built on a foundation of airtight horn arrangements and live hip-hop instrumentation, “Money” fuses golden-era rhythm with a gritty narrative about the hunger, seduction, and moral ambiguity that surround the pursuit of wealth. Lyrics include "Give me that money / I need that / All for the dough," showing this theme.

One of the most interesting songs on the album is "Red Eye", a song inspired by the band's tour to Indonesia and the exhaustion, fun, and disorientation often found in touring far away. The track further explores the grind mentality and those sleepless nights chasing dreams and the restless ambition it takes to succeed. The song feels propulsive, like a late-night sprint through neon-lit streets. The horn arrangements are tight and dynamic, hitting with the swagger of old-school jazz but the urgency of modern hip-hop. The rhythm section locks in a relentless pulse, giving the song its forward motion and emotional tension.

Love Glory Duty Death doesn’t just sound good, it feels alive. With its cinematic energy, impeccable musicianship, and genre-smashing creativity, the track proves once again that The Urban Renewal Project are one of the most innovative collectives in contemporary music. This is an album built for movement, press play and let it carry you somewhere new.
