Once in a while, a voice appears seemingly out of thin air—so different, so soul-charged, so extraordinary—that it stops you in your tracks.

That voice belongs to British R&B artist Sasha Keable.

Keable’s just released her new seven-track EP act right, and it’s more than good—it’s something truly special, especially as her first completed project.

The EP opens with “FEEL SOMETHING”—a bludgeoning, no-nonsense track packed with sound effects that make you feel like you’re speeding down the highway with her.

The bass hits deep in your throat, echoing the desperate need to feel something real for once.

It’s the perfect intro because Keable’s vocals pack a knockout punch. If you need a wake-up call before diving into the rest of the EP, this song will do it. Gospel-inspired harmonies swell wide, adding depth and making it a killer opener.

Next comes the title track and standout song on the EP, “act right,” which opens with somber keys and a minimal yet grooving beat that Keable commands with her matter of fact vocal performance.

Lyrically, it’s a sharp realization she may not have seen while going through the situation: “If you loved me, you would never hurt me…If you hurt me, you would say you’re sorry—Instead you acting cocky. If you wanted to, you would act right.”

It’s that kind of hindsight realization you reflect on long after the fact—something anyone who’s experienced a wake-up-call breakup can relate to deeply.

Then comes the playful, 2000s R&B–infused, toxic-love-fueled “Can’t Stop,” which reveals a different side of Sasha Keable. The reverbed brass and bopping beat drive the track as Keable delivers fast-paced vocals that glide effortlessly over the groove. Smooth riffs melt like butter atop the foundation, complemented by echoing harmonies that add depth and texture.

On “Work” an experimental production featuring a rewinded synth sets the pace as Keable’s flirty topline melody and lyrics enter, embodying a sensual energy.

The track features Jamaican-born American rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer BEAM, who dominates his verse and sends the song into a tailspin the moment he arrives. His contribution adds a fresh flavor to both the track and the EP as a whole.

Fast forward to “WHY,” a more reflective track that sends chills with Keable’s vocal performance and dramatic yet minimal production.

Lyrically, it’s sweeter and shows Keable asking questions like, “Why is it me you give all this love to? Why am I that important?” —revealing a softer, vulnerable reflection on perhaps not feeling fully deserving of that love.

Fast forward to “Move It Along,” featuring Leon Thomas, which carries an urgent tone.

Vocally, Keable sounds on the brink, and Thomas’s riffs perfectly complement and amplify her energy—couldn’t think of a better feature. He leans into catchy R&B melodies in a way that really works.

The song feels like a stream-of-consciousness track—singing exactly what’s on her mind. It’s deeply soulful.

The EP closes with “Heartbeat,” a slower track featuring a groovy beat and catchy melody. The lyrics capture the tension perfectly: “The moment I try to move on, you just reappear—nothing about this feels sincere.”

Overall, the EP not only introduces listeners to Sasha Keable’s incredible voice but also showcases her impressive sonic range.

Keable can clearly deliver a knockout song about heartbreak, yet she also effortlessly sings about flirtations and the sweeter surprises of love when you meet someone better than you ever imagined.

Not only is “act right” a declaration to listeners that Keable means business, but it’s also a clear message to herself—to accept the love and energy she knows she deserves moving forward.
