Ley Soul is a neo-soul artist from Chicago whose voice, rich with depth and maturity, belies her 21 years.

With a dynamic vocal range and undeniable soul, Ley elevates even the simplest neo-soul grooves into vibrant, jazz-infused soundscapes. Her presence is both commanding and graceful, with vocals that feel otherworldly, resonating deeply and lingering long after the final note.

Her debut single, "Intergalactic Janet," draws clear inspiration from the ethereal heights of Erykah Badu, particularly echoing the dreamy pulse of "Didn't Cha Know." Yet, it's not just the beat that invites comparison; it's the voice. It's in the tone, the control, and the cosmic weight of her delivery.

"Love, Bomb" is ethereal, with her vocal runs and range truly shining on this track. More acoustic in its sonic range, it explores a sweeter side

Next on the EP "Save Your Love" takes us upbeat again. It is heavier in its production, a strong percussive drum beat carrying the vocals across the track, with the addition of piano. Its simple, yet refined. It feels more Kali Uchis than Badu here, highlighting her artistic range.

"Fortune Eyes" is one of the most compelling tracks on the EP. There’s something almost hypnotic in its strong jazzy swinging beat, layered vocals, and production that builds throughout. This track is not shy of sound effects, which only add to the 4D dimensional world of Ley Soul. It feels like a culmination of all the previous tracks rolled into a beautiful cacophony of neo-pop.

The penultimate track on the project, "Fly Away," is once again reminiscent of Uchis. It feels like you are thrown into slow motion, surrounded by snake charmers. The motif "fly away" recurs throughout.

"Into Sands" gently rocks us back down to earth as we descend from the otherworldly planet.

Where a debut EP is truly meant to capture the sound and energy of an artist, Ley Soul has perfected it. It is neo-soul in another dimension and one that we're here for.
