Whethan unleashes viral remix tape ‘WAREHOUSE.WAVS2’ ahead of EDC Las Vegas

Whethan is fully locked back into his bass music era. With the arrival of "WAREHOUSE.WAVS2," the producer unveils the second chapter of his viral remix series, a chaotic, high-energy collection of edits and flips built for the rave, the internet, and the modern warehouse circuit. The project lands exclusively on SoundCloud just ahead of his anticipated return to EDC Las Vegas, where he is set to take over bassPOD on Sunday, May 17.

Designed around the records currently dominating his live sets, WAREHOUSE.WAVS2 captures the raw energy driving Whethan’s recent resurgence. The tape pulls from dubstep, trap, hardcore, and bass music influences while reworking a wide range of cultural touchpoints spanning rap classics, emo-electronic nostalgia, underground internet records, and festival-era anthems. One of the project’s heaviest moments arrives through Whethan and Dennett’s destructive rework of A$AP Rocky’s “Distorted Records,” transforming the already chaotic TESTING opener into a full-scale bass weapon engineered for peak-time mayhem. Elsewhere, Whethan revives Breathe Carolina’s iconic crossover hit “Blackout,” flipping the 2011 emo-electronic anthem into a modern festival crusher while still preserving the massive singalong energy that made the original such a defining EDM-era record.

Across the tape, Whethan leans heavily into nostalgia while connecting it directly to today’s underground bass culture. Viral internet rapper EsDeeKid’s “4raws” receives a frantic remix treatment, while Southern rap staples including Huey’s “Pop, Lock & Drop It,” Rich Boy’s “Throw Some D’s,” and Yung Joc’s “It’s Goin Down” are reimagined through distorted drops, aggressive low-end, and warehouse-ready percussion. The project also revisits blog-era rap crossover moments with flips of “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” by Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana, alongside a bass-heavy take on “23” by Mike WiLL Made-It, Miley Cyrus, and Juicy J, a record synonymous with early-2010s party culture.

Another standout arrives through Whethan’s remix of Kaskade’s “Move For Me,” reworking one of progressive house’s most beloved crossover records into something far heavier while maintaining the emotional core that made the original timeless. Meanwhile, his remix of Turnstile’s “BIRDS” pushes fully into hardcore territory, reflecting the growing crossover between bass music crowds and heavy alternative scenes worldwide.

The tape also includes a remix of “Vans” by The Pack, tapping directly into the late-2000s skate and blog-era internet wave that helped shape an entire generation of online music discovery. That same DIY energy now fuels Whethan’s current movement, where unofficial edits, bootlegs, and live-tested flips have become central to his rapidly growing fanbase.

Since re-entering his bass and dubstep lane in early 2025, Whethan has seen major momentum across both streaming platforms and live markets. That resurgence has translated into sold-out shows in cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Denver, alongside increasing demand for the headliner to play in the market. With WAREHOUSE.WAVS2, Whethan continues doubling down on the raw, chaotic energy that inspired the series in the first place, delivering a direct-to-fans project built less for traditional release cycles and more for the culture surrounding modern bass music itself.
