Belgium-hailing band Fervents announce much-awaited debut album Service For The Sick with first single "A Letter," accompanied by captivating visuals. Capturing the raw urgency of real world happenings, the sharp offering unfurls as a lucid fable about being called to war by a country you no longer recognize.
One of the most political tracks on the album, the resonant anthem which was recorded in the United States in 2025 is a stark reflection of the current political climate, rooted in their signature blend of abrasive beats and lush melodies. The visuals directed by Thomas De Hemptinne, shot almost by accident during a day off in Oakland, encapsulates the track’s direct approach to imminent issues, by unfolding as a tracking shot filmed from the trunk of a rental car driving through Temescal.
Both sonically and visually pushing forward with an instinctive but nervous energy, the track is the first glimpse of a collection that deals with violence of capitalism with intimacy and relatability in equal parts. Speaking of what to expect from the album,Ben Baillieux says, “These songs are drawn from my own experience, from jobs that emptied me out, cities that never slow down, and the constant pressure to fit into a life that never really felt like mine. The record deals with the violence of everyday capitalism. Not the spectacular kind, but the quiet one: work, debt, consumption isolation.”
Having established themselves with their incisive, and unfiltered brand of rock, Fervents continue to challenge social conformity, everyday addictions, and the search for a life with their truthful, experimental and meaninful artistry.
