Jake Marsh channels intimacy and expansiveness in equal parts on 'edge of the bed'

NYC alt-rock pop singer-songwriter and producer Jake Marsh transforms intimate moments into expansive, resonant sonic tales on his debut album edge of the bed, a 11-track collection rooted in his melodic blend of alt-rock and pop. Written and produced entirely by Marsh in his bedroom studio, the guitar-led project spans songs that come alive with unfiltered honesty, framed by thoughtful soundscapes and conversational lyricism.

From the luscious notes of opener "magnets" and the quieter warmth of "kintsugi," to the tender slowness of tracks like "comet," and "origami," Marsh's gentle vocals and heartfelt guitar lines weave through the peaks and troughs of emotions, finishing on the deeply personal project with the achingly hopeful tone of the title track "edge of the bed."

With each note brimming full of heart, the album captures his ability to vulnerable and empowering all at once, rooted in biting alt-rock energy and modern pop luxury. Speaking of the album, he says,“I’ve always talked about wanting to make an album, and in fall 2024 I decided it was time. The process was back to basics—sitting at the edge of my bed with a guitar, then producing it inches away, bouncing around my room, trying everything until it sounded like something I’d actually listen to. I’ve been living with it for a while now, and I’m so excited it’s finally out for everyone.”

An entrancing album rooted in imperfection, immediacy and comfort, Jake Marsh positions himself for a bigger, brighter chapter in his musical journey with this debut project.
