Liverpool quartet Honey Motel shares loud, defiant and exhilarating single “ T.N.A.K.,” encapsulating the the weight of societal pressures with a dark yet tongue-in-cheek approach. Giving us a glimpse of upcoming EP Motel FM, the track brims with the signature live energy alongside a melodic, emotive sensibility.
The track bursts open with a wall of thick but distorted guitars and high-energy drums woven together by velvety vocals. A hypnotic anthem underscored by a touch of melancholy, the track shifts seamlessly between ferocity and delicacy before spiralling into a climactic flourish of frenzied closing notes.
Wrestling with the contrasting pressures of chasing your dreams while wanting to stay ground, the track brims with a raw energy and sharp intensity. Speaking of the track, the band says, "The track leans into the idea of being a loser, flipping it into something more confrontational, a reflection of the frustration and risk that comes with trying to break out.”
Rooted in the teenage friendship of guitarist Sam Meredith and bassist Jack Hughes, before drummer Lew Fogg and Freddie Griggs joined in, Honey Motel have carved out a solid space for themselves in Liverpool live circuit and beyond with their high-octane musicality.
