Fallin' Astronauts soars "Higher" into a dreamscape with new single

Back with their brand-new single "Higher," rising indie-pop duo Fallin' Astronauts are launching you on an exhilarating aural adventure. The track marks their long-awaited comeback and first glimpse into their forthcoming five-track debut EP, "MONO," which is set for release in October.

Led by singer Maximilian Hamedinger and guitarist Emil Breit, Fallin' Astronauts produce a sound that's somehow both vast and intimate, characterized by the careful coordination of minimalist textures and sweeping dream-pop energy, which facilitates an immersive listening experience that washes over you. On "Higher," that balance takes form as shimmering guitars, soaring melodies, and uplifting lyrics that invite you to soar above the everyday buzz.

Influenced by Heavyweight artists including Coldplay, Kodaline, and Imagine Dragons, Fallin' Astronauts don't follow a template, as they produce atmospheric layers with depth and sincerity. Fundamentally, "Higher" plays as an anthem of freedom: a soundtrack to those fleeting life-altering moments that seem endless. With Emil's guitar work providing the track its base, and Maximilian's vocals pushing it further heavenward, the whole song is an embodiment of floating and an evocation of the idea that life is a bright pool waiting to be plunged into.

"Higher" is about resilience and perspective, and its lyrics echo the universal yearning to escape life's inequalities and fully experience what life has to offer. Production plays to that sentiment as well, combining rich atmospherics with stripped-down flourishes, giving the music plenty of space even as it makes an undeniable impact.

Serving as the lead single from MONO, "Higher" is an introduction to an EP that seeks emotional truth as well as experimentation. On this release, Fallin' Astronauts prove that indie-pop is at its most effective when it pairs heart, melody, and vision. For followers of euphoric, guitar-driven dream-pop, "Higher" is an essential addition to your playlist.
