Factory 93 launches new queer-forward, community-driven event brand Fixture [NEWS]

In an era where mainstream electronic music events grow increasingly homogenized, Factory 93 is making a deliberate pivot toward authenticity with the launch of Fixture – a new event series designed to celebrate the unsung heroes of underground dance culture.

Announced this week, Fixture shifts focus away from algorithmic popularity and hype cycles to spotlight multi-hyphenate artists and DJs who function as true fixtures in their local scenes, sounds, and communities. The series positions itself as a queer-forward, community-driven platform dedicated to elevating the narratives and innovators behind club culture both locally and globally.

The inaugural Fixture event lands at Lot 613 on June 21st, featuring boundary-pushing artist and DJ Chippy Nonstop bringing her Pep Rally party concept in collaboration with LA underground collective SORBET. Berlin-based LSDXOXO will deliver a rare live set, joined by REDLINERS and a special back-to-back set from SORBET founder Shane Thomas and resident Miracles.

For Factory 93, a brand known for bringing techno and house to massive stages across Los Angeles and beyond, this move represents a calculated risk and intentional recalibration. "With the global house and techno scene ballooning so rapidly in recent years, we felt it crucial to create space to invite and collaborate with those who truly propel underground culture and sounds," explains the Fixture team. "As the sounds have grown in prominence, the communities that influence and create them should be recognized for their innovation."

The series' visual identity comes from Serbian artist Marko Vuleta-Djukanov (Floating Bstrd), whose design work for underground luminaries like Vladimir Ivkovic and Lena Willikens has earned him recognition throughout the global dance community. His aesthetic, influenced by '80s and '90s design and Yugoslav black wave cinema, perfectly complements Fixture's ethos of highlighting underground authenticity.

As dance music continues its commercial expansion, Fixture arrives as a timely counterbalance – a deliberate effort to reconnect with the community-driven spirit that has always defined underground electronic culture. In turning the spotlight on those who've historically kept underground scenes alive, Factory 93 is making a statement about what truly matters in nightlife: not headliners or streaming numbers, but the people who create space for genuine cultural exchange on the dancefloor.
