Following the release of their cover of Alanis Morissette's classic "You Oughta Know" earlier this year, alternative rock band Pretty Jane, formerly known as Pretty Jane & The Magazines, is back with a hazy track. "Spit" is a direct shot to the heart of pure emotional torment. The newly released track is infectious in its production while painting a broad stroke of romanticism. Pretty Jane's trademark raw poetry is on full display as they tackle the joy and struggles of love.
"Spit" is a track filled with sexy themes of love while also dabbling in its reality. The lyrics cut through the lazy, slowed tempo of the backing vocals. Infusing with the bass, Pretty Jane creates a perfect self-reflective track of going through the emotions. While not overly sexual in its lyrics, the tone and use of spit further expands upon Pretty Jane's direct intention of emotional intimacy to convey meaning. "Spit" marks Pretty Jane's second single this year, which is keeping within the band's statement of releasing a new single every month.
