Manchester-based band The Maddocks offers a raw and relatable exploration of self-understanding on “Benny Says,” a high-octane production rooted in a raucous, psychedelic punk rock style.
Led by euphoric instrumentals built on pulsating rhythms and swirling guitars, the track is as energetic as it is atmospheric as it delves into the complex emotions of an unnamed protagonist.
A crowd favourite in the band’s live set since 2022, the captivating track spans the band’s signature blend of post-punk, psychedelia and indie as they infuse their quirky and unapologetic sonic approach to craft a raw and rebellious vibe that leaves us wanting more.
Speaking of the track, the band says “‘Benny Says’ is one of our favourite songs that we’ve written so far, and definitely channels a slightly more peculiar sound than our debut EP. It’s been on our setlist ever since our first headline show back in 2022, so it’s already become a bit of a live favourite, and we can’t wait for more people to (hopefully!) love it as much as we do.”
Comprised of George Edwards, Siobhán Lally, Ed Gibbins, and Alex Tollerfield, The Maddocks are taking the indie scene by storm with their grit and passion one anthemic number at a time as they journey toward the release of their forthcoming EP, The Mind Palace.
