Brighton-based musician Sam Thrussell, known for his role in Dutch Criminal Record, steps into the limelight with his debut EP under the alias Park Days. Titled 'Waiting Around', the EP, released on March 15th, showcases Thrussell's prowess as a songwriter, blending tight guitar melodies with infectious vocals and bold production. Drawing inspiration from the indie sounds of the 2000s, Park Days infuses each track with a modern vibrancy, reminiscent of The Strokes' iconic album 'Is This It?'. Lead single 'Waiting Around' epitomises this fusion, blending catchy hooks with an effortlessly cool indie edge.
Reflecting on the EP, Thrussell shares his creative process, with each song on the EP reflecting a sonic journey inspired by the indie scene of the 2000s. 'Waiting Around' captures the anticipation of awaiting life-changing moments while striving for proactive change. Meanwhile, 'New Year', written in early 2020, ironically contemplates the uncertainties of the year ahead.
Park Days' emergence as a solo artist marks a new chapter in Thrussell's musical journey. With sold-out tours across the UK and Europe and acclaim from BBC Radio and prominent music publications, Thrussell solidifies his status as a formidable talent in his own right.
