ISLAND OF KOMODO shares a unique artistic vision with Madness in a Jar

Berlin based musicians, composers and songwriters Marc Teitler and Bernd Wuertz have formed a new musical project together called ISLAND OF KOMODO. The band is conceptual and takes inspiration from a fantasy story of a couple who conceives a child on the island of Komodo during their honeymoon. The just released single "Madness in a Jar" is an important musical moment and story within the album.

With "Madness in a Jar", ISLAND OF KOMODO continues the story of the young boy who was born on the island of Komodo. His delayed ability to grasp language as well as odd movements spawned a rumor in the community that he was part lizard. Due to the massive rejection his parents then gave him he became a dragon and the song portrays the story of his eventual mental breakdown. Musically, "Madness in a Jar" showcases the paranoia and fragmented reality the boy suffers using sonic metaphors including stabbing strings, analogue defects and fuzzy noise. The intriguing and chaotic release is deeply transformative as well as poignant with ISLAND OF KOMODO creating a unique musical expression of emotion.
Marc Teitler and Bernd Wuertz met while competing against each other at a score competition in Berlin. The two bonded over their avant garde music and different ways of creating. In their new project, Marc brings his background as an accomplished orchestral composer while Bernd adds his punk and experimental noise influence creating a sound unlike any other. Check out "Madness in a Jar" now and reach out to someone who might be lonely or isolated.
