Danish-Faroese singer-songwriter, Brimheim released her single "Brand New Woman" a while back and now returns with the official video. The record is a collaboration with singer/songwriter eee gee and explores the concept of breaking free from gender gender-restrictive roles placed on women by the larger society and the overarching need for external validation and approval from the patriarchal system. Lyrics like "Getting in the car at sunrise Purging my old life/I could be a wild woman A dot on the horizon" see the duo bid goodbye to the need for conformity and twisting and decide to break the mould to chart their path and let the inner beast prevail.

The accompanying visual is motif-driven and makes use of engaging storyboarding with engaging set pieces and cinematic aesthetics that tap into the theme of self-discovery.

“Brand New Woman” is the second single off of the upcoming album RATKING where Brimheim, with a refined fusion of organic and electronic elements, shines an unrelenting light on the dissonance within herself. RATKING explores her shame, frustration with prescriptive gender roles, and unmasks the parts of her that she’s spent a lifetime suppressing.

"Brand New Woman” was released after the first single "Literally Everything" dropped in September. Check out her tour dates below.
