Rapper Asun Eastwood and prolific producer IM'PERETIV are currently working on a forthcoming collaborative project but in the interim, they share the lead single "Health it Costs". The track is a candid and unapologetic take on the price we creatives pay in this modern era where many things have lost their core essence. To drive home the point, the duo recruited some friends to help including fellow rappers Mav, Ty Farris and DJ Dystrakted who all show up with their A-Game. Bolstered by IM'PERETIV's ominous guitar-driven soundscape, downtempo grooves and Dystrakted's intricate cuts, the emcees take us into the deep end of the spectrum where mental health is ignored for the access to material things that will eventually wither away. As Asun Eastwood aptly puts it, "Music selling out, but what's the use of it if Health it Costs?"
"Health it Costs" offers a taste of what's to come from the collab project, I AM THAT I AM, by Asun and IM'PERETIV, slated for early 2024.
