DIY act Manta unveils vulnerability on “Poly,” led by groovy bass and understated guitars to make for an immersive listening experience. Rooted in pop sensibilities, Manta’s powerful vocals and a raw yet commanding delivery, the track manages to bring a heartfelt feel to life.
Taken from his sophomore E.P Roundabouts in Therapy, the track much like the rest of the EP encapsulates modern day issues with equal amounts of sensitivity and honesty. Speaking of the production, he says, “This song is about one of my old flat mates who always fell in love with the wrong girl. He got into a relationship with a polyamorous girl who was sleeping with other people and he tried to act like he didn’t care but it was eating away at him. I tried to put myself in his position and how he was feeling about it all.”
Having begun his musical journey from his bedroom in Manchester to honing a dynamic sound that continues to fetch him critical acclaim, Manta turns up the anticipation for his new project.
