Spanish singer MAVICA sets the mood with captivating video for "you could never do that" (video)

The Cartagena-born, London-based singer-songwriter MAVICA returns with an artistic new video that perfectly accompanies the airy track. “You could never do that” is something quite new and experimental to come out of MAVICA's arsenal and points the singer's sound in a bright new direction without completely abandoning their roots.

After a quiet three years since her latest release, London's own MAVICA returns with a new song and a new video, ditching the folk aesthetics for something more ethereal in nature.

While MAVICA’s earlier work is grounded in traditional folk aesthetics and acoustic instrumentals with a touch of modern syncopated drums, “you could never do that” is still kept together through minimal instrumentation while incorporating spacious drums and a mix of echoing synths.

It manages to create a luscious atmosphere with minimal sound and MAVICAs vocals add an extra texture to the mix resulting in a dreamy, elegant stylistic tune.

The video provides the perfect medium to accompany the tone MAVICA aims for.

With a diverse cast of women and occasional grainy shots filtered over, MAVICA is introducing a new era with a lot more weight to the art.
