San Francisco-raised singer and songwriter Cate Tomlinson is an emerging artist who is slowly building her musical portfolio, and presently she is a Music Industry major at Northeastern University in Boston. Her latest single "twenty one" is a sombre and reflective ballad that explores the long-lasting effects of a past relationship and how it affects and shapes one's life forever.
Over a soothing, melancholic piano arrangement, Cate takes listeners down memory lane as she relives her youth from an older perspective, delivered with silky vocals. She gets to see the mistakes, the complications and the overwhelming emotions that come with young love, and I must admit it's something we all can relate to in many ways.
