LA-Based producer Matty Beats has worked hard this year with several artists to produce top-quality beats and records. Matty got into music at the ripe age of 14, when his uncle gifted him an old 80s Charvel. Building a foundation of guitar skills and a passion for rock music, Matty went on to produce some of the best tracks this year – with artists like Ekoh, Nic D, Loveless, and Cryptic Wisdom. In high school, Matty and his friends started a 9-piece hip-hop band, called CFP the Band. They opened for the likes of Mac Miller, Chris Webby, DJ Premier, and Pete Rock. Through a spiral of events, Matty tried his hand at marketing and decided to build his brand around artists – collaborating on tracks with them, as opposed to selling type-beats online. Eventually, he started releasing tracks through his own name on streaming services, featuring the artists that performed on the tracks – similar to DJ Kahled or MetroBoomin. Centering his sound around aggressive 808s and guitar-driven tracks, Matty Beats is a unique and determined producer.
His latest track, "Enemigos", features Rauli V and is a prime example of Matty's love for 808s. With a bass boost like no other, Matty's aggressive kicks combine with light guitar strums to create the perfect environment for the vocalist. To the listener, the beat isn't just a backing track. It's a work of art, and the way Matty sets the stage for both himself and the recording artist is a unique take for independent artists – and an idea we approve of. We look forward to upcoming releases from Matty Beats, and are excited to follow him as he continues his producing journey.
