Hailing from New York, Blair West is a rising star that presents a signature sound. Her music is a mixture of emotion, tinged with grit, warmth and sensitivity. Influences such as Joni Mitchell, Jewel and Taylor Swift are all present, however they’re all executed with her Blair West goggles on, giving her sound a unique edge. It’s no wonder why her sound is penned down to a T, she’s been writing songs since the tender age of five alongside a keen interest and background in piano, guitar, musical theatre.

"Rabbit Holes" is an irresistible new offering. At its core, it’s a vulnerable offering and is reminiscent of cosy, autumnal nights. Fingerpicked guitars provide an airy and delicate foundation. On top lies a softly-penned vocal, wrapped up in an irresistible melody that is expressed through her warm tone. Lyrically relatable, snug and overflowing with pop sensibilities, the stripped back instrumental section gives West the ability to showcase her vocal power.

Speaking about the track, she reveals: “This song brings together the most personal pieces of me as an artist. The lyrics, which were some of the first I ever wrote, originally lived in a poem of mine: 'if you leave me, I'm coming too.' It was meant as a cheeky expression of my love for my fiancé — maybe a little creepy, maybe a little extra, but most definitely romantic. As if "hopelessly devoted to you" was remixed with a bit of sass and enigma.    I wanted to tell a love story that people could relate to, but incorporate the little eccentricities that made mine special, like my love for astrology and my years in Brooklyn."

Blair landed various jobs in marketing and journalism, however after several years of writing songs after long days in the office, Blair soon realised there was no passion stronger than that for her music, and she finally decided to "go for it".  Since that huge leap of faith, Blair has been performing all around the East Coast, perfecting her musical skill and stage presence and has spent hours upon hours writing music, honing in on her sound. Her debut single "All this to Say" released earlier this year has amassed more than 50,000 streams on Spotify and counting. With a rising career, who knows what’s in store for the singer-songwriter.
