LA-based, Dallas-born singer/songwriter Oscar Delaughter drops feel-good track “Day Care,” led by his soft vocals layered dreamy sonics of synths, guitars and hazy beats. With a simple but powerful message about self-empowerment, the emerging talent weaves a vibrant narrative that asks us not to be influenced by the opinions of others.

Drawn from personal experiences of being pulled in different directions but rooting himself in his own self-confidence, the crux of the track simply forms around being yourself, as Delaughter’s gentle tone wraps us in warmth. At only 21, the theme of “Don’t Care,” and the careful build of instrumentation speaks of an artistry way beyond his years, as he establishes his ability to create sonic worlds that are as impactful as they are enjoyable.

Having learned to play piano, drums and guitar at a young age, before quickly evolving into a well-rounded act capable of producing full collections of music, Delaughter who impressed with his 2021 debut single “Just Woke Up,” is carving a niche for himself in the music industry, one emotive, relatable slice of catchy music at a time.
