LA indie singer/songwriter Jane. will have listeners in their feelings this winter, but the music definitely makes it all worth it. Jane. is the new project moniker of Raj Jain, who takes inspiration from 90’s dream pop, but blends that with some soft psychedelia and folk. Only his second single out, he’s already setting himself apart from any other artist of the times. Be prepared to fall in love with his newest track, “For You, For Blue.”
Hypnotic from the start. Distant, echoed drums and slide guitar, one can easily say the production feels reminiscent of Mazzy Star with the simple and spectral guitar melody. Already a beautiful love song in itself, Jain’s voice is tranquil and breathy. There are even vocal effects that make him sound like he’s spinning or lingering in some lush haze.
