Veteran New York rapper Ill Knob returns with the video for his song "Y’all Ain’t Ready" which is also the title track of his new mixtape. The record serves as a form of introduction to those who might not be familiar with the rapper who started his career in the 90s with his group KGB. Ill Knob cuts to the chase over this mellow bouncy backdrop and sets the record straight for those sleeping on his skills with lines like "Whatever I say, all day I'ma back it up/ somebody gotta lead and somebody gotta follow…" It's not all bravado for the time-tested Brooklyn-raised rapper as he also drops some thoughtful gems every now and gem that details his journey.
The visual is self-directed (under the moniker The ILL One) and it's a pure display of performance shots of Ill Knob in different sets doing what he loves the most. I like how he keeps it simple and straightforward with the minimum lighting and fitting backdrops that work perfectly with his grown man style.
