Inude dive into the new week with the biting "Okay, It's Monday"

Italian electronic three-piece Inude have released the third single of their lockdown-induced music with the jaggedly-edged "Okay, It's Monday."

Clearly driven by their deep-seated affinity for music of all kinds, their broad electronic sound naturally fluctuates to suit the unique lyrical tone of each track. Their previous release, "Ballad1," was an emotively rich foray into interpersonal connection, which utilised luscious synth chords to compound their eponymous motives, but with "Okay, It's Monday," we see the sonics grittily shift towards the embroiled new direction. The gravelly, driving synths coalesce with the thumping drums, tinting the track with an almost alt-rock air of angst, a perfectly calculated foundation for the introspective songwriting.

The lyricism applies a subtle, contemporary spin on the Groundhog Day concept, undoubtedly compounded by the dramatically reduced options that we've had of late. A train of thought that's become a consensus among many, they outline the motivations in an email statement, sharing that, "It's Monday again, you need to wake up, start another day. But what is the arrival point? What is the end goal? Routine, boredom, habits—they all scare me as it scares me to look myself in the mirror during these times, when I've been feeling unstable and bored, looking for answers in places which can only feed me new questions"

An organ-like synth adds an almost haunting layer to the track, bringing the heavier synth tones into a harmonious balance, which perpetuates the duality of the situation it details, heavy dread meets exasperated melancholia. As the energy dips into each verse, the organ maintains as a dutiful backbone, all the way into the track's staggering, shoegaze-esque conclusion.

"Okay, It's Monday" is available now via Factory Flaws.
