Splitting his time between Sao Paulo and London, Marcelo Deiss has been raising eyebrows with his politically focused blues rock and his latest track “Gridlock” closely follows suit. Not only does his music satisfy the needs of traditional rock’n’roll fans, but it also raises awareness of topics that can no longer be ignored. From greed and oppression to social alienation, the Brazilian artist hopes that his music might amplify these issues and make people think twice.
“Gridlock” is everything that you’d want a blues infused, indie rock track to be. Rambunctious guitars, gravelly vocals and a throbbing bassline emphasizes how Deiss has something to say, and he wants you to hear it loud and clear. The musician reveals, “I would say that it's mainly about bringing attention to the injustice of the system we are living in. It was movements such as Brexit, Me Too movement, Trump, Black Lives Matter and other topics that deal with oppression that got me into writing about what's currently happening in our society.”
“Gridlock” is just the third single to be released by Deiss and we can only hope that an EP is on the horizon.
