After serving up mouth-watering singles like "Quick" and"Coming Closer", Los Angeles rapper Duckwrth put out his label debut album SuperGood. The project is a fusion of genres and pays homage to the black music that shaped him as an artist. Not the one to taper off, Duckwrth returns with the visuals for the EarthGang assisted track "Super Bounce."
"Super Bounce" is an effortless bop that reminds me of a mix of early Outkast (ATLiens era) and summery West Coast vibes. Crafted by Nascent and Beat Butcha, the lush production here is just too silky to ignore and the emcees do it justice as well with their herb related lyrics and inviting demeanor. The versatility of Duckwrth's vocal talents are on full display as he seamlessly switches his styles from R&B/soul to traditional rap without missing a beat. EarthGang is also in their comfort zone as they pepper the beat with their easy flowing bars and poetic rap delivery centering on green induced relaxation.
The video has a retro aesthetic and focuses on a couple enjoying themselves underneath the evening sun. It's pretty straightforward and for some reason doesn't involve both Duckwrth and EarthGang in any of the scenes.
