"Class War" is the lead single off Lateef The Truth Speaker's new project Roots & Tings. The LP sees the Grammy-nominated MC joining forces with Bay Area DJ and producer Jah Yzer and the multi-talented musician and reggae artist Winstrong to showcase the best of reggae and hip-hop.
On “Class War,” he teams up with Lyrics Born and Gift of Gab who help unite the masses against the 1%. The trio kicks a lot of gems over the bombastic beat crafted by Jah Iyer, while Winstrong brings it to a closer with an affirmative hook.
The animated video that accompanies the song is very vivid, with detailed depiction of the proles as they toil away while the government takes the bulk of their benefits. “Class War” is embellished with a limited edition original artwork by incarcerated artist Raul Fernandez. The artwork will be available with special, limited vinyl 45’s in addition to all streaming services. The trio will be touring Roots & Tings and are currently kicking off the new year supporting Blackalicious.
