As always, Electric Island's opening DJs are hand picked specifically for the sound on the day, and we're especially looking forward to coming early and enjoying the daytime vibes on the island this weekend. We're excited for the eclectic sounds we're likely to hear from our favourites Night Vision, who are opening up mainstage Sunday, as well as Aleksandar Kojic (L'enfant terrible) who shares the Moog Audio stage with Borzoo (Kindisch), Alberto Jossue, who just annouced his new label Arcane Circle, and Nature of Music, the city's beloved duo whose solo projects in addition have been making waves lately – Mazi's Alfa State alias has recently released on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat as well as Seven Villas on a track with Tiger Skin. They're all opening for international guest Rodriguez Jr. who provides the late night slot to cap off a perfect lineup for an intimate atmosphere Sunday.
While at mainstage, two of the biggest names of the year in dance music, Danny Daze and Charlotte De Witte, join veteran superstar DJ Loco Dice to bring some explosive electro and techno selections. On Monday, the mainstage features a Dirtybird meetup with J.Phlip joining Justin Martin in lead up to the woman of the night, Nicole Moudaber. The opening DJs might be even more of a draw for us as Gera and Alex Harris supply the early afternoon rhythms, surely a treat in itself.
Over at the Moog Audio stage, Jamie Kidd of the praised Box of Kittens family opens up for No. 19 label co-owner Nitin from Toronto, and The Fitness & Pony (Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb) out of Montreal. Whether you're into house, ambient, techno, melodic or 4/4, this year's Electric Island season finale has something for everyone.
