We discovered Franky Rizardo’s “Same Man” today as it climbs the Beatport Top 100 chart. And luckily for us, it’s Thursday. So let’s take a walk down memory lane on this appropriated throwback day. It was 2012, and Sensation just made its debut at Brooklyn’s brand new Barclay’s Center. Mark Knight had some iconic ID’s shared in their live sets that were circulating around the web. Not one, but two of those songs that defined the night were from an emerging Dutch producer named Franky Rizardo. Both were collaborations with Roul & Doors: “Blackout” and "Elements.” Now, fast forward five years, and Rizardo has come into his own, hosting a radio show and releasing singles across various respected labels in the industry. His latest, “Same Man,” is out through Defected, the track is everything we want in an underground burner. Sampling a crate digging-find from 1983 entitled “For The Same Man,” the sample draws us in, but the production keeps us interested.
