Cults x Freddie Gibbs – "Bad Things" [Remix]

Personally, there is nothing I like more than genre-crossing. So the other day when I saw a headline for a Freddie Gibbs remix of the Cults song, "The Curse", you can imagine how I felt.

Hypetrak debuted what appears to be one of more cross-feature tracks coming from the New York indie band. Back in July of this year, frontman Brian Oblivion said in an interview with AOL that they planned to work on a mixtape involving hip hop in the form of up and coming rappers like Lil B and, obviously Freddie Gibbs.

Oblivion reworked the beat of "The Curse", slowing it down for Gibbs' vocals without compromising anything that makes the original so irresistable. As Oblivion said in his interview with AOL, he's not a fan of having producers remix the band's work because he'd rather have full control of what the end product sounds like. If this Gibbs track is any glimpse into what having "full control" means, then please, by all means.
