Last year, Gallant turned heads (praised by the likes of Pitchfork, NME, and The Fader) with his debut self-release, Zebra EP. Since then, he’s signed with Mind Of A Genius, the stealthy label behind Zhu, and has been quietly laboring away at his upcoming EP, which is expected to release this summer.
Fortunately for us, Gallant has released a new single, “Open Up,” to tide us over. Immediately, the brisk moans and panning effect grab our attention, and then, Gallant locks us down with his show-stopping vocals. The artist can sing like no other; with so much power and emotion, it’s overwhelming. This is carried perfectly here by STINT’s vaporous production. If this song doesn’t get you to open up, nothing will.
