Nile Rodgers is a man that needs no introduction as his music and his robust resume speaks for itself. He has backed R&B legends like Aretha Franklin and Parliament Funkadelic, made our parents rabid with disco fever with his legendary group CHIC, and most recently curated the song of summer in 2013 with Daft Punk on their triumphant chart-topping single “Get Lucky.” Recently during a performance at Moogfest, Nile announced that he is just getting started, that he has many exciting solo and collaborative projects coming out very soon. Celebrating his comeback Nile has teamed up with the notable UK independent power-house Cr2 Records and the International Music Summit in Ibiza for his latest single “Do What You Wanna Do (IMS Anthem).”
Cr2 Records are celebrating their 10th anniversary with a number of exciting projects including this single and in that time they have released music from top acts like David Guetta, Eric Prydz, Fedde Le Grand, Steve Angello, Deadmau5, Carl Cox and many more. It is no surprise that Cr2 is the perfect fit for this disco drenched up-tempo single. In addition to the single, 'DWYWD' has been graced with a number of vibrant remixes that boast a serious array of diverse talent. Remixes of the single can be heard from the likes of MK, Chocolate Puma, Silversix, Rob Da Bank, The EEL, Grades and Moon Boots. Today we are ecstatic and honored to premiere the Rob Da Bank remix of the single. This remix keeps the iconic guitar riffs and dancy melodies of Nile intact while putting a groovy deephouse spin to the original. The Grades/Chocolate Puma/Silversix/Rob Da Bank remix EP will be available on Beatport next Monday, June 9th and will be followed a week later by the Moon Boots/The EEL Interpretation EP on June 16th. Until then you can get lost in this remix as well as the remixes from Moon Boots and MK.
