Gab Strum, a.k.a. Japanese Wallpaper, is a blooming producer from the great city of Melbourne, Australia. There's something oddly warming in his style, which has managed to grab a good number of ears. Comparing his recent work to his first EP three years ago, the vast improvement after his first foot forward is definitely noticeable.
Taking influences from artists such as James Blake and Sigur Ros, he likes to travel the atmospheric route in which you can get your chill on. Japanese Wallpaper's latest smoothie is called "Waves", featuring the dreamy vocals of Pepa Knight. The song is stripped to the bare minimums. There aren't any excess effects, unnecessary and overbearing percussion, and anything else extra that might take away the weightlessness nature of the song.
