It's always great when some freshness drops into your inbox that instantly gets you moving. This week was no different, when I was sent the new EP from Bristol native Conducta. A relatively new face to myself, Conducta has been causing huge waves in the UK scene, and this week he released his first EP on brand new label, DPM Records.
The young producer/DJ has already had the support from big names in the UK including Royal T, My Nu Leng and Mélé, and it's clear to see why. "Let Go" is a UKG banger, that starts with a smooth guitar before dropping into a heavy bassline complete with some cleverly pitched vocals that just ooze UK Garage goodness. It's backed by "Used To Care", which sees Conducta use more airy synths, before throwing in some real dirty bass and another intelligently used vocal sample that gives the track a bit more body to it. The final track on the EP is a remix of "Let Go" from fellow UK bass don Distro, who turns the original into an all out rowdy affair, with in your face bass lines on top of shuffling hi hats and a smooth pumping beat that's really grooves along.
You can stream "Let Go/Used To Care" plus the Distro remix below, and if you're feeling what you're hearing, you can buy the EP on Juno & iTunes.
